I take on a small number of consulting engagements at a time. If your problem sits somewhere on the chart below, we should probably talk.

Where I’m useful

• Ruby on Rails. Greenfield builds, rescues of older codebases, performance and structural work. Fifteen-plus years with the framework.
• Full-stack web. Frontend through database. HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Rails, Postgres. Server-rendered apps, JS-heavy apps, and the messy middle.
• Infrastructure & ops. Kubernetes, VMware vSphere, networking, server setup and maintenance. Production systems that have to stay up. I’ve operated them, not just deployed them.
• Domain modelling. Auctions, marketplaces, settlement, multi-party flows. Anything where the schema is the hard part.
• Second opinions. A few days reading the code, talking to the team, and writing down what I’d actually do.

How I work

Engagements typically run four weeks and up. I prefer fixed scope over open retainers, and writing-first communication over standups. Fully remote; CET-adjacent hours.
